Some people look at me like I’m crazy when I say “I love my ferret”, but I do, and they can think what they want. My little guy brings me hours of enjoyment and sunshine to my gray days. The last thing in the world I want is for him to get sick, yet it’s a fact of life and in order to offer the best care (and quality of life), you have to keep an eye on what’s going on in their ferret worlds.
FERRET CARE NOTE: If you suspect your ferret is sick, take him to the veterinarian as soon as possible. Do not try to treat him at home.
Your pet’s veterinarian is second best friend, next to you, and an important partner in protecting their well being. This article will help you to
• Choose the perfect vet for you and your pet.
• Evaluate your current level of veterinarian care.
Evaluating veterinary services is an important part of every pet owner’s role. Whether you are a brand new pet-parent or a seasoned owner, take the time to carefully evaluate your vet, both before making a selection and on an ongoing basis.
A small caviomorph rodent native to Chile is the Degu. The caviomorphs are characterized by their large heads, plump bodies, slender legs and short tails. They are also distinguished by the formation of their jaws and massafer muscles. The degu is sometimes also called the glitter-tailed rat though it is not related to the rat family.
The rodents are highly social creatures living in burrows. They dig together communally to make larger and more elaborate burrows than what they could do individually also. There are chains formed by degus digging together and coordinating their activities. The social behavior is also observed in case of the females who live in the same group who not only nest communally but also nurse the young of each other.
Cost may often be a determining reason why many a pet owner may baulk at preparing homemade pet food for his or her pets. However, making homemade pet food is not necessarily expensive and you can follow a few handy tips in order to keep the outlay within budget. To begin with, you need to think seriously about what kind of meat to give to your pet. If you visit the pet food store, you should look around for any items that are on sale and choose the meat that is being sold at a discount with which to make your pet’s food at home. Also, rotating his food with different meats will add some variety to the food and make your dog look forward to different dishes.
